Floral Tattoo
Floral Tattoo began as Alex Anderson’s first solo project, dating back to her high school years. Many iterations of the band have occurred and the band has slowly added to their numbers, growing from a 5 piece shoegaze outfit in 2019 to a 6 piece in 2021 and now are testing the limits of every local stage as a 7 piece collective that shares the songwriting between 4 members. In any given song you may hear influences ranging from My Bloody Valentine, to Animal Collective, to Stereolab to Jeff Rosenstock. Floral Tattoo’s music has been featured in Pitchfork and Brooklyn Vegan as well as being the weekly artist for Everything is Noise and listed as one of 10 bands ‘reimaging shoegaze’ by Alternative Press. This year they will be playing a sold out benefit show at the Vera Project for the Olympia Non-Profit ‘Pizza Klatch’. Not only are they playing a set to open the night but they are joining Will Toledo of Car Seat Headrest as his backing band to play a set of Car Seat deep cuts.
