Here’s what Braden has to say about it: “since I was two years old, my family has stayed in a cabin by the Stuart Fork river in California. As we drifted to sleep to its lulling roar, my dad would tell stories of wily trout and determined eagles, hungry bears and resourceful chipmunks - all of which populated my mind. Fast forward to today, and the new album lives in the same landscape and palette of symbols to trace the salmon cycle, woven - in this song - with memories of my parents. All that to say, filming with them in that place and inhabiting those characters (even in a silly way) was a real gift, and I hope you enjoy it.”
